Velancia PCL Threads

PCL was approved by the FDA for specific applications used in the human body as drug delivery devices and sutures. PCL is now widely being used following the recent introduction of a PCL-based microsphere dermal filler belonging to the collagen stimulator class and throughout Asia with the development of PCL cosmetic threads.

Through the stimulation and production of type 1 and 3 collagen, PCL threads are able to correct facial aging signs such as volume loss and contour laxity, providing an immediate and long-lasting natural effect. Biodegradation of PCL occurs through a process of hydrolysis over a time period of between 18 to 24 months while the aesthetic duration of threading results has been found to last between two to four years. PCL threads are softer than PDO and PLLA and they last longer than any other cosmetic thread.

PCL Threads result

The non-surgical facelift is a minimal invasive medical procedure that uses PCL/COG. The PCL thread (Polycaprolactone) is a strong monofilament used in aesthetic and antiaging medicine, biodegradable and completely absorbable once inserted under the skin, used safely for years in cardiovascular surgery, eye surgery, gynecology, traumatology, etc. Once inserted under the skin, the PCL threads stimulate the synthesis of collagen and produce a lift. The results will start to be visible after approximately 2-4 weeks, and the complete absobtion will be completed after about 6-8 months, but the effects will last 2 years or more, depending on the individual patient’s metabolic rate.

The result is smoother, firmer, tighter and younger looking skin. Threads can be used on face, neck, decolte, arms, back, gluteal area, knee area and anywhere else we want to stimulate collagen formation and to correct skin laxity. The COG threads are stronger, thicker threads used to pull the skin layers against gravity, they anchor in the deeper layers, helping to obtain a lifting effect. The final effect is similar to a plastic surgery lift, and can last up to 2 years.
